Gov. Hochul signs Clean Slate Law sealing many New York criminal records
Conviction records for certain crimes in New York will be sealed after a certain period of time under the state's new "clean slate" legislation.
The law will not seal records for sex crimes, murder, or other non-drug Class-A felonies.
The Clean Slate Law aims to help convicts reintegrate into society and improve their access to jobs and housing. [ more ]
